“Sometimes I wish I could photosynthesize so that just by being, just by shimmering at the meadow’s edge or floating lazily on a pond, I could be doing the work of the world while standing silent in the sun.”
-Robin Wall Kimmerer from Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
As a photographer, I make pictures out of light. In this series, I slow down and pay attention– following the light as it dances across the surface of plants. They are busy at work, quietly making it possible for us all to live. I also am quiet, observing trancelike as the light moves and I am spellbound. Come and explore with me.
